Success story of last five years of BADC (2009-2014).    BADC Achieved Bangabandhu National Agriculture Award-1417 (Gold Medal).   Seed: 1. BADC established 1044 acres largest seed multiplication farm at Char Basbaria under Dashmina upazila 2. Three high powerful automated seed processing plant established for the first time in Bangladesh through BADC. 3. Breeder class potato seed production through tissue culture technology saving foreign currency. 4. Super hybrid rice variety (SL8H) having per hectare yield 14 metric ton introduced in Bangladesh through BADC.5. NERICA rice cultivation successful in Bangladesh through adaptive research. 6. Development of new variety "NERICA Mutant" (Yield potentiality above 10 metric ton per hectare).7. Hybrid rice seed export programme launching at government level by the year 2013. 8. Increasing processing and preservation capacity of rice, wheat and maize seed from 64405 to 170282.9. Increased seed potato cold storage capacity from 17000 to 47000 metric tons.10. Quality seed production by BADC increased 261059 to 636623 (increased about 3 folds). Irrigation: 1. Brought 1,05,160 hectare of land under irrigation through re-excavation of 4,258 Kilometer Khal; 2. Brought 22,336 hectare of land under irrigation through installation of 514 Deep Tube Wells; 3. Brought 1,59,500 hectare of land under irrigation through installation of 2,580 Low Lift Pumps; 4. Brought 24,520 hectare of land under irrigation through rehabilitation of 605 Deep Tube Wells; 5. Brought 20,352 hectare of land under irrigation through construction of 2044 Kilometer surface irrigation channel; 6. Brought 9,250 hectare of land under irrigation through construction of 825 Kilometer sub-surface irrigation channel; 7. Brought 565 hectare of land under irrigation through construction of 25 Jhiri Bandh; 8. Brought 3,525 hectare of land under irrigation through construction of 25 sub-merseable weir; 9. Brought 3,540 hectare of land under irrigation through construction of 4 Rubber Dams; 10. Installation of 1,180 smart card pre-paid meter; 11. Brought 110 hectare of land under irrigation through installation of 11 Solar Electric Pumps;; 12. Brought 850 hectare of land under irrigation through construction of 350 Artesian Wells;; 13. Brought 450 hectare of land under irrigation through use of 45,000 meter Hose Pipe to irrigation equipments; 14. Brought 22 hectare of land under irrigation through use of 11 Sprinkler Irrigation System in demonstration plot; Fertilizer: 1. In FY 2008-09 only 50 Thousand MT TSP and MOP was distributed among the Farmers. 2. In FY 2012-13.540 Thousand MT TSP, MOP and DAP fertilized was distributed among the farmers. The amount is more than 10 times that of FY 2008-09. 3. In FY 2009-10, The subsidized sale price of TSP was reduced in two phases and fixed to 22.00 Taka/Kg from 82.00 Taka/Kg that was in FY 2008-09. 4. In FY 2009-10, The subsidized sale price of MOP was reduced in three phases and fixed to 15.00 Taka/kg from 69.00 Taka/Kg that was in FE 2008-09. 5. In FY 2009-10, the subsidized sale price of DAP was reduced in three phases and fixed to 27.00 Taka/Kg from 85.00 Taka/kg that was in FE 2008-09.
